‘The purpose of every yoga is not physical fitness but spiritual strength, ultimately leading to self-realization of the individual in the deepest sense.’

Awakin Meditation Circle – FREE
The evening’s flow…
Awakin gatherings started when three friends got together in 1996 to sit in silence, every Wednesday, in an ordinary living room in Silicon Valley. No teachers or gurus. No set agendas or proposed beliefs either. Just one strong principle – when you change within, the world changes. And instead of closing the door, they left it open … to all. Inspired by many others, who have done this for decades, Awakin Circles offer a space to come together and share in a context of stillness, community and service.
Today, Awakin Circles have organically rippled to eighty cities around the globe. People meditate for the first hour, engage in a circle of reflective sharing in the second hour, and conclude the night by receiving a home-cooked vegetarian meal. A palpable sense of gratitude and community weaves through it all.
The ripples of inner transformation are countless – and continue on.
You may find it helpful to read this article called ‘Sitting In Circles’ by Parker Palmer, which so beautifully shares why the process of sitting in circles is so transformative, how circles of trust serve our journeys individually and collectively, and the role that a community of noble friends plays in inspiring each of us to make the journey inwards.
There is no charge and no one is expected to bring anything. People organically “pay-it-forward” to the world in their own ways.
7.30 – 9.00 pm | |
FREE |
- 7:30 pm – Sit together in silence for 50 mins, it’s unguided, without any music. For first-timers, this primer on meditation may be helpful
- 8:10 pm – An inspiring reading followed by sharing where we listen deeply to each other, so that we can share with an open heart from a place of fullness and trust.
- Followed by tea & biscuits
